Default cleaner armor artwork please

I'm hoping there's still time for the artists to take a closer look at the new Nightfall armor sets. It still drives me crazy when I notice oversights like these from Factions:

Above the neck you can see not all areas that should be dyed become dyed. I feel like I have to stick with some version of red.

Where the glove overlaps the cape you can see an area where the transparency wasn't cleaned up. It takes a lot of effort to earn these armor pieces and it's quite a let down when I put them on and I see this... ugliness. My wish is for a cleanup of past armor sets, but I reckon it's more realistic to ask for cleaner artwork in the future. Please take a close look at all the new armor pieces for Nightfall!

Wow, you have way too much time on your hands to notice small details like that. I do agree that the dyed color spots should all be dyed the same color.

the dying thing i can understand.

The transparency might be because of your video card...

I don’t think it’s really about having way too much time one’s hands. This issue has more to do with what kind of experience one enjoys with Guild Wars. For example, this is my typical night of GW pleasure:

*drop a load of plat ‘n mats for my sassy new necro Lux chest piece*
“kit are you coming us for a fow run?”
oh they are sooo going to gawk when they see me in this, fo shizzle!
“brt”
uh oh... my hair sticks through the collar. balls!
*blue dye + purple dye + chest piece = outfit matching my hair color*
this sooo the bomb diggidy... wait...
*notices red spot on collar*
what’s this?! nooo! not another booch!

"toa to kit, come in kit”
"yeah on my way"
*map to LA, map to ToA*
ok stay calm. i get extra cool points for being nonchalant.
*aceept group invite*

"kit can you battery for us?"
*run over to my guildies*
"sure gimme a sec"
*reskill*

"sweet armor kit"
"yeah thats badass"
*bask in my new glory*
maybe if i turn a little to the left they won't notice the red spot
"thanks i just got it"

*guildie runs over to pay entrance fee*
"every1 rdy?"
"1"
"rdy"
oh i still need that Lux scar. do i have the mats on my mule?
"1"
"1"
"yup"
"ready"
*trying to recall where i put scare pattern mats*
"kit!"
"1"
*zone to FoW*
"don't talk to ghost!"
*wait 50 seconds for laggers*
i wonder if my armor'll distract the team. they're staring at me right now, aren't they?
*turn slightly to the left*

"ok tank call targets"
*binding monk goes to work*
"kill monks first"
*last lagger arrives*
"energy please"
maybe i'll just have to settle for red armor. ...but that is soooooo unoriginal.
"energy please"
*BiP*
"ty"
and then my lovely lavender hair that sticks through the collar will be noticable again...
*tank calls a monk and charges in*
*t, space, shadow strike*
and what's up with this skirt?
*vamp gaze*
the lines are all muddy
*t, space, shadow strike*
it almost doesn't match the top
*vamp gaze*
matches the gloves though...
*vamp touch, soul feast*
speaking of which, the boots with their nice clean lines go with the chest
*run from attacking shadow*
this is getting to be a major bummer
*t, space, vamp gaze*

"good job all. this way now."
"energy please"
*BiP*
"mez 1st then eles"
*tank calls ele instead and runs in*
*t, space, shadow strike*
well no one has said anything about my collar so far
*vamp gaze*
maybe the mobs are distracting them
*t, space, shadow strike*

"\\\\\waacth hte partol"
*our ele aggros a patrol*
no they definitely seem to be distracted by my uber sass
“nergy pls”
*BiP*
perhaps i should put on my scars
*run from attacking abyssal*
nah... if i show skin, we're doomed fo sho!
*vamp gaze, run in circles*
dang. half the group is dead. time for a retre...
*Kit is dead!*

"run"
i died face up this time. nifty.
*heal monk and ranger flee*
aw crap. that red spot is showing straight up and flashing "notice me!"
"good retreat. rez pls"
yeah, hurry up with the rez. this is embarrassing.
*rez bind monk*
what if i try a red violet color?
*rez ele*
something that'll kinda mask the hair AND the red spot
*rez 2nd ranger*
would that be red + purple + red?
*rez warrior*
c'mon! rez me!
*rez 2nd warrior*
stop drooling on my sexy new armor. i'm the one who drools on dead people!
*rez Kit*
"ty"
"back down to ghost. wait for patrol to leave"
what's up with all these chaos axes this trip? and not a single one is max dmg.
*new guy talks to ghost*
"who did that?"
*ghost runs off*
"keep im alve1"
*BiP, t, space, shadow strike*
i should get my ranger after this. she still needs Kurz gloves 'n boots.
*vamp touch, soul feast*

"no run"
*t, space, vamp gaze*
yeah those spike thingies just ooooooze with spunk!
*Kit is dead!*

"rule 1 don't talk to ghost"
*group zones back to ToA*
i can't stand this anymore
*runs over to guildie*
{do you notice anything on my collar?}

{what?}
{on this armor, around my neck, look closely}
{what?}
{maybe you need a new video card}
{what? that red spot?}
noooooo!
*weeps*

i love plain stuff liek the paragon armor looks nice and simple. I myself buy K-Swiss shoes because i like the plain white look to it and plain armors would be nice to have also

So here's Nightfall and I've bought some of the new armor. So far I have female primeval necro and male sunspear ele. I must say I am very very very pleased with the attention to detail. Bravo to the artists!

/squintseyes

you'd have to be in full zoom to see any problems.. do you want them to work on this or having missions not be bugged with party splits etc? Umm.. red dot YEAH!

I can definitely understand how that red spot can get irritating. Although.... I wouldn't have noticed if you didn't mention it :P

Just think of it as a blood stain. So, you were a little messy at the dinner table, big deal.

Clean is pretty. Nightfall armor looks nice, paragon armor clean and pretty.
But be happy we can change armors, in some other game cant even change armors or dye. XD

mwhahhaha great story, kit.

but yea, there's a fair share of blunders in past armor/gear/hair that they still have to fix, and I don't see that coming anytime soon.

Just see the Eloian Dervish armor head gear.

You'll se two bluish spots that do not get dyed like the rest. So you'll end with to ugly stains
